LEAVE THE NAYSAYERS

28th January 2024

Scripture Reading: JOHN 5: 1-15

Focus

“The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.” (John 5: 10)

When the man at the pool of Bethesda was healed, the Jews turned up and began an argument about why he should not carry his bed. These same men did not invite Jesus to heal the man whilst he lay on his bed at the pool side; but the moment he received his miracle, they began a conversation to antagonize his new season. The moment he entered his new season, enemies of his new season arose to contend with him.

Friend, as your new season is unveiled, get set for those who will contend with you for the sake of the new things that God is bringing your way. Get set for a new set of haters who would simply argue with everything good that God brings your way. Get set for a new set of antagonists who can’t deal with the fact that God has smiled on you. Get set for a new set of naysayers that simply won’t let you move on without an argument.

The eyes of Jesus turned in the direction of that man at the pool of Bethesda, and the result that came to the man caused the Jews to chase after him with new arguments. They didn’t come when he was empty handed; but when his thirty-eight-year-old affliction ended, they soon were on his case. Sometimes, the activities of your naysayers are mere indications that you have moved forward from where you used to be.

When it seems your naysayers are multiplying, rejoice, for the eyes of El Roi have turned in your direction. When the naysayers begin to say more than they ordinarily should, celebrate, for the eyes of Him who sits on the throne of heaven are fixated on you. Don’t even allow any naysayer make you lose sleep this year. When they show up, remind yourself of what Jesus said to you, and continue your journey regardless.

Don’t stop your journey because of a few naysayers that have a problem with you carrying your ‘bed’ on the ‘Sabbath’. Your new season has begun, and no naysayer will turn back the hands of the clock.

Declaration

In 2024, I won’t stop my journey because of naysayers; I am unstoppable, in Jesus’ name!
