Memorise: Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Matthew 24:42

Bible Reading: Matthew 26:36-42

  1. Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
  2. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
  3. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
  4. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
  5. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
  6. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the fIesh is weak.
  7. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Bible Reading In One Year: Jeremiah 38-39; Hebrews 1:1-14

MESSAGE:

I know this is a topic that scares most Christian teens and youth as well. Some would say Jesus should not come now because I want to get married and have children. Well, that is good, but the reality is that the trumpet can sound at any time and so you have to be prepared, otherwise, you will be caught unawares. Any Christian who is pretending will be caught unawares. Any fellow who is living a double life will be left behind. On that day, secrets will be exposed. Any fellow who is left behind will suffer shame and disgrace because all those who know the fellow as a church goer will mock the fellow.

Don’t be like the five foolish virgins in Matthew 25:1-46. They were sleeping along with the other five wise virgins who had oil in their lamp while they didn’t have oil. Whatever you know you are currently doing that can hinder you from being raptured when the trumpet sounds, I will advise that you repent of it today before it’s too late. Don’t be left behind. A glorious future awaits you in Christ Jesus.

Key Point:

Both young and old stood before the judgement throne. You have no excuse.

Hymn: Onward Christian Soldiers

  1. Onward, Christian soldiers,
    marching as to war,
    Looking unto Jesus
    Who is gone before;
    Christ, the Royal Master,
    Leads against the foe;
    Forward into battle,
    See his banner go.

Chorus:
Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
Looking unto Jesus
Who is gone before.

  1. At the name of Jesus,
    Satan’s host doth flee;
    On then, Christian
    soldiers, on to victory!
    Hell’s foundations quiver
    at the shout of praise;
    Brothers, lift your voices,
    loud your anthems raise!
  2. Like a mighty army
    moves the church of God;
    Brothers, we are treading
    where the saints have trod;
    We are not divided;
    all one body we,
    One in hope and
    doctrine, one in charity.
  3. Crowns and thrones may perish,
    Kingdoms rise and wane;
    But the Church of Jesus
    Constant will remain:
    Gates of hell can never
    ‘Gainst that Church prevail;
    We have Christ’s own promise-
    And that cannot fail.
  4. Onward, then, ye people,
    join our happy throng,
    Blend with ours your
    voices in the triumph song;
    Glory, praise, and
    honour, unto Christ the King;
    This through countless ages,
    Men and angels sing.
