LET GOD BE FIRST!

Dear Reader,

Welcome to another great month! I pray that God’s favour and uplifting come upon you and your families. This week, I will be sharing the subject ‘Let God Be First’. 

I want you to know that there is so much good for you in your homes, families, in the lives of your spouses, children, businesses, finances and careers this year. However, according to Scripture, it is only for the obedient. The Bible says: If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19). Whatever the mouth of God tells you to do this year, do it because there is a reward in obedience.

Purpose in your heart to obey God and do His will; refuse to be among the evildoers, then you will see His outstretched arm in your direction this year. As such, you will become a positive surprise to all around you in Jesus’ name!

Today, the world is filled with calamities, troubles, and woes, so your family needs the help of God. Man is still looking everywhere in search of lasting solutions to the problems encountered in marriage and family. But the Psalmist shows us the secret for an enduring solution. The Bible says, Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man (Psalm 60:11). No matter what your family may be going through when God takes the first place in your family, He makes His help available to you. God is all you need to have all your needs met.

 The problem with many couples today is that they push God aside; yet, they expect to enjoy divine benefits. They ignore the Word of God, which I call the “Manufacturer’s manual”, and expect the product (marriage) to function perfectly. But it is impossible! The Word says: If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do (Psalm 11:3)? God is the foundation for success in the home. When the foundation is faulty, no matter how righteous you may be, your home cannot stand.

To give God a place of priority in your family begins with your personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The presence of God comes down in your home when you are a child of God and a diligent student of the Word. These are the keys to exciting and successful family life. God upholds ALL things by His Word. Once His Word is given its rightful place in your home, it will build a sure foundation, which must stand! Receive the grace to operate upon the Word right now, in Jesus’ name.

Here is a testimony on the wise application of the Word of God: 

‘In May 1981, I had my first child, and since then, I had been from one church to another in search of another child. I was anxious, desperate, worried and lacked a good relationship with people, and this almost cost me my marriage. 

However, in December 1991, I had another baby ten years later, and I thought peace had come to my home. But no! There was no peace until I joined this Commission in July 1994 and gave my life to Christ in October that same year. Thereafter, I started hearing the Word of God in a different way, the way I had never heard before. Then I started seeing changes in my home and the relationship between my husband and me. Peace, joy, harmony and great love have been restored to me.

Then I became anxious to have another child since my baby was over four years old. So I read the book titled ‘You Can Overcome Anxiety’, authored by Pastor (Mrs) Faith Oyedepo. Anxiety died in me, and I knew know God was able to do all things. By the grace of God, my husband is now a man, husband and father. There is now peace in my home and office, and my relationship with other people is excellent. I return all the glory to God!’— Hart , C. I.

So, family peace depends on the place you give to God and His Word in your home this year. The more of Him you have, the more peace, joy, happiness and sweetness you enjoy in your family. Receive the grace to allow God take His rightful place as the first in your family. The grace to practice His Word in your home is released to you now in Jesus’ Name!

However, the first step required to enjoy the grace to build a good and quality relationship with God begins with salvation. So if you want to give your life to Christ, please say this prayer: Dear Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins.  Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour.  Now I know I am born again!
