BIBLE READING: Psalms 115:3

  1. But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Bible Reading In One Year: Psalms 13-16; Acts 18:1-28

MESSAGE:

From Naaman’s story, we see that one of the hindrances of miracles is having a preconceived idea of how your miracle will come. Naaman had already concluded how he would get his miracle. However, according to Psalms 115:3, God does as He pleases. From my experience of reading several prayer requests, I have observed that people do not stop at making a request, but also dictate to God how He should grant their requests. Sometimes, when God answers their requests His own way, they get disappointed.

When you pray, you should always acknowledge that God is sovereign and would always do as He pleases. Make your request known but also let Him know that His will and ways supersedes yours and your desires. This attitude shows that you are humble. It also shows that you revere God and would rejoice and stay grateful no matter what happens. It won’t always be easy, there will be times when you will want something so strongly that by instinct you will map out your request with how it should be answered. But in such situations, you have to intentionally make your desire take a back seat by letting God know that His will is the most important thing to you.

Prayer Point:

Father, please have your way in my life.

Hymn: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

  1. My faith looks up to Thee,
    Thou Lamb of Calvary,
    Saviour divine!
    Now hear me while I pray,
    Take all my guilt away;
    O let me from this day
    Be wholly Thine.
  2. May Thy rich grace impart
    Strength to my fainting heart,
    My zeal inspire;
    As Thou hast died for me,
    O may my love to Thee
    Pure, warm, and changeless be,
    A living fire.
  3. While life’s dark maze | tread,
    And griefs around me spread,
    Be Thou my guide;
    Bid darkness turn to day,
    Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
    Nor let me ever stray
    From Thee aside.
  4. When ends life’s transient dream,
    When death’s cold, sullen stream
    Shall o’er me roll,
    Blest Saviour, then in love,
    Fear and distrust remove;
    O bear me safe above,
    A ransomed soul.
