LET THE PEACE OF CHRIST GUIDE YOU ALWAYS

COLOSSIANS 3:13-15 (GNB)

Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you. And to all these…add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity. The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful.

The basic way the peace of Christ guides us is as we walk in love. Whenever we are not walking in love, our hearts are troubled. The peace of Christ in us is disturbed, because we are walking against our true nature. There is an inner witness in us that we are going against God’s will for our lives. This is why you must, “Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody,” (Rom.12:18, GNB).

Avoid anything that you know will bring you out of that place of the peace of Christ. Check with the peace of Christ before you make any decision. Instead of thinking thoughts of hatred and bitterness, love others as Christ has loved you. Forgive and show mercy to others to preserve the peace of Christ in your heart. It is that peace in your heart that God uses to guide you and lead you in His will for your life. One of the meanings of the word used for peace in the New Testament is prosperity and two additional meanings of the word used for peace in the Old Testament are health and prosperity. As a believer, your experience of wholeness and prosperity is greatly tied to the peace of God that reigns in your heart.

Whatever will cost you your peace is too expensive. Don’t buy it. Don’t lose the peace of Christ for anything.

Heavenly Father, please fill me with your love and help me to continue to reflect your love to others at all times.
