LET THE WORD DWELL IN YOUR HEART RICHLY

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom… ” Colossians 3:16 KJV

There are certain things that will want to lodge into your heart, but it is not everything that comes that you should keep. However, when it has to do with God’s Word, you have to keep it. The Word is what you will need in the time of battle! The Bible says “Keep them in the midst of your heart” (Proverbs 4.21 NKJV). You must eject anything contrary to the Word. Once it is something negative that wants to lodge in your mind, eject it. But if it is something positive that will give you expectation of something good, lodge it in.

Proverbs 4:23 says: “Keep your heart with all diligence. For out of it spring the issues of life”. (NKJV). There are different forces of life. The way the world is going, if you fail to guard your heart, you will not amount to much in life. Your heart determines the direction or course of your life. The Message translation says: “Keep vigilant watch over your heart, for that’s where life starts.” In other words, become a vigilante to your heart because that is where life starts. If you don’t do what is right with your heart, your life will be in shambles. If the devil succeeds in lodging negative ideas in your heart to the point that you receive it rather than eject it, then don’t even try to pray because it will amount to nothing, since it is not coming from your heart. Your heart is very important; it determines where you are going.

If what you put in your heart is corrupt, then you are going to have corrupt communications. In other words, if what you are going to say does not edify you in your spirit man, don’t say it. This is because you are first edified to good use before you can minister grace to those who will hear you. After you have been edified, it will minister grace to you. When you are not edified, grace will be far.
