“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

We traveled the unknown road leading up to Easter. We wept on Good Friday, pondered through Silent Saturday, and exuberantly rejoiced on Easter Sunday. And now we live in the after Easter weeks.
But, life continues. We are still navigating life’s new normal during the global COVID-19 health crisis. Everyday life challenges will continue to occur: a friend is still hospitalized with cancer, a family member worries about a rebellious child, a husband walks out the door leaving his wife and children … the list could go on. With all of life’s obstacles, how do we live with the hope of Easter after Easter?
Look to Jesus. After Jesus miraculously rose from the dead, He walked and talked with His friends for over a month. With a few exceptions, we are not privy to most of His words and actions during that time. What we are sure of, however, is that Jesus communicated two profound commands which overflowed with both hope and challenge: Wait and Go.
Jesus’ disciples and friends needed to first wait for the promised Holy Spirit power, and then go into a hungry, broken world with the hope of the resurrection message.
It’s no different for us, today. Through grace and by faith, Jesus followers are filled with the Holy Spirit and commissioned to go into the world and share the good news of the Gospel with others. In this way, we, too, live in the after Easter weeks until Jesus’ triumphant return.
How will you begin this journey on the road with Jesus?
