LIFE WITH A MEANING! (1)

Dear Reader,

Living a life of meaning is enthused by some guiding principles. Therefore, in this wonderful edition, I will put in your hands the fundamental principles that will make your life colourful, exciting and meaningful. These principles will help convince you of who you are, what you are created for, and how to go about accomplishing the purpose for which God has created you on the planet earth. Only then can you live a life of meaning.

The most efficient and effective of these guiding principles is what I will be emphasising in this article.  It is known that every product delivers its best when used according to the manufacturer’s design.  So, also, you cannot live a meaningful life until you Locate the Reason for your Existence, and that specific thing you have been set aside for is the reason for your existence. Even if you were born out of wedlock, you did not just happen or appear on this earth by mistake; you still have to give account of how you lived your own life. Galatians 1:15 says, But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace.  Paul the Apostle lived an outstanding life because he discovered this truth.  He located it and lived for it.  As ministers’ children, you have been pre-ordained and assigned to accomplish a particular task or mission. So it is your duty to locate it, abide in it, and pursue it with all excitement. A proverb says, ‘Whoever is being looked unto does not look elsewhere’. That is, as ministers’ children, you are being looked unto by other children for the best way of life to be emulated. You must not disappoint God and your parents; live a life worthy of emulation and not by trying to impress anyone. Therefore, knowing the reason for your existence on earth is the only way to find bearing for your life. May you locate it on time and live solely for it.

Let us examine two of the avenues for locating the reason for your existence:

• Go directly to God, your Manufacturer: One major way to locate the reason for your existence is by enquiry.  Enquiry is what leads to discovery (Habakkuk 2:1-3). Ask God, He is your Manufacturer, and He has firsthand information on what you have been separated unto before you ever existed. One of the most frequent and fervent prayers I still remember very clearly I ever prayed, especially in my single years, was along this line. Today, I am not surprised where God has taken me. I am a living proof that it works, and He will do the same for you!
• Look Inwards: Take an inventory of your life. Conduct an internal search.  There is something within you that will give you a clue to where you belong.  Look inward for what productive thing you can do without stress or imitations; it is put there by God to occupy you till He comes. Look for what gives you boundless enthusiasm. Look for what you have been trained to do; that is, your skill. Look for your areas of positive impact on people; that is, honest opinions about you. One or a combination of two or more of the above may be a pointer to your reason for existence.

As earlier mentioned, locating the reason for your existence can be inquired from God.  However, it takes a conscious relationship with Him to enable you go freely to Him for such enquiry. Therefore, to have a conscious relationship with God, you must be born again. You become born again by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. If you are set for it, please say this prayer of faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God, and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave or forsake you. With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace, in Jesus name!
