LIVE A LIFE OF LOVE

John 13:34-35 (TPT), Ephesians 4:31-32 (TPT) “So I give you now a new commandment: Love each other just as much as I have loved you. For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.” *Lay aside bitter words, temper tantrums, revenge, profanity, and insults. But instead be kind and affectionate toward one another. Has God graciously forgiven you? Then graciously forgive one another in the depths of Christ’s love.

Jesus wants us to reflect unto others the same kind of love that He has shown unto us. There is no way that we can reflect the love of God to others if we do not first receive the love of God for ourselves. We cannot give what we do not have. The love of God needs to fill our hearts to the point that it begins to overflow from us. The love of God fills our hearts as we focus on the revelation of Christ (John 3:16) and depend on the help of the Holy Spirit, (Rom.5:5).

Our world is desperately in need of the love of God and God is counting on us to reflect His love from our lives unto others. The love of God is pure and unconditional. It is large and incredibly patient,it is gentle and consistently kind to all and it refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. The love of God does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. It does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. It is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. The love of God joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. It is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. It never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up and it never stops loving, (1Cor.13:4-8, TPT).

Just as the love of God made Jesus lay down His life for us, it makes us lay down our lives and make sacrifices for others, (1John 3:16). The love of God makes us speak the truth to others, show care and concern for others, give and also forgive others. Let the love of God motivate and drive every single thing that you do.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, please fill my heart more and more with your great and unconditional love. Help me to show and reflect your love to others.
