LIVE A LIFE THAT PLEASES GOD

“And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul”. 1 Samuel 18:1 (KJV)

King Saul tried many times to destroy David. He insisted that he must not be on the throne. He used every available opportunity, but he could not stop it. With every attempt he made, God created a way of escape for David. You will escape from your enemies. Their plans against your life will never succeed. All the traps that they have laid for you, you are coming out of them. Whosoever digeth a pit shall fall into it and whoever rolleth a stone it shall be rolled back to him (Proverbs 26:27). Every evil they have sown against you, they are reaping a hundred-fold. The enemy will not cut your life short. Every promise God has made shall be accomplished. Your life will glorify God. This is your year of exceeding great reward!

God made sure that at the appointed time David sat on the throne. Beloved, just make your life to please God. When your life pleases God, He makes even your enemies be at peace with you. He will even use those that you least expected. Do you know what happened? God was orchestrating things in the life of David. Right in the bedroom of Saul, God raised up Jonathan. Now if you read it so fast you may miss the whole point. Who is Jonathan? The heir apparent! In other words, he was next in line to Saul from the human standpoint.

According to the scriptures: “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.” (Psalm 75:6-7 KJV). You don’t promote yourself. Saul said to his son Jonathan, is something wrong with you? You are the heir apparent. But Jonathan said I have enough sense to know that God’s hand is upon David. I don’t want to occupy a seat that is not my own.
