LIVE BY THE LEADING AND EMPOWERMENT OF THE SPIRIT
Romans 8:1, 4, 13-14, Galatians 5:16 & 25 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. *That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. *For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. *…Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. *If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
The only way that we can live like Christ and be all that God wants us to be is by the leading and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. When Mary was wondering how she was going to birth Christ, the angel told her,“The Holy Spirit will come down to you, and God’s power will come over you…,” (Luke 1:35, CEV). I am glad to let you know that you don’t need to be worried or afraid of how you will live like Christ and be all that God wants you to be. It shall happen by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit. It is not by power nor by might but by my Spirit says the Lord, (Zech.4:6).
The Bible says God is at work in you, making you willing and able to do His good will, (Phil.2:13). God does this in us by the help of the Holy Spirit. This means that we have no reason to be afraid or to fail in any area of our lives. All we have to do is to grow in our consciousness of the presence of the Holy Spirit and yield ourselves to His leading and empowerment. Jesus said, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever” (John 14:16, AMPC).
We do not overcome the lusts of the flesh by trying to overcome them in our own strength and wisdom. We overcome them by yielding to the leading and empowerment of the Spirit. It is as we walk in the Spirit that we will not fulfil the lusts of the flesh. As you yield to Him, He will develop and manifest His fruit in you (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control) Gal.5:22-23.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for giving me your Spirit to lead and empower me. Help me to be more conscious and yielded to your Spirit.
