LIVE LIKE JESUS

COLOSSIANS 3:17 (AMPC, NLT), 1 JOHN 2:6 (GNB)

And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him. *And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. *if we say that we remain in union with God, we should live just as Jesus Christ did.

God has given us the same life Jesus has so that we can live like Jesus, (1 John 5:11). The Bible says Christ is our life, (Col.3:4). Jesus is our model and our standard in all things. God wants us to grow up into Christ in all things, (Eph.4:15). God wants our lives to be conformed to Christ, (Rom.8:29). One of the ways we can live like Jesus is by saying and doing everything we say and do by His authority. That is what our first text above means by saying and doing everything in His Name. Don’t only mention the name of Jesus. Say what you say as if it is Jesus saying it and do what you do as if it is Jesus doing it. You have His life and authority now and He is the One living through you now. You are His capable representative and ambassador. He has confidence in you and He has sent you into the world just as the Father sent Him, (John 20:21).

Think as Jesus thinks. You have the mind of Christ, (1 Cor.2:16). To think like Christ, you must fill your heart with the revelation of Christ. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, (Col.3:16). Fill your heart with the revelation of who Christ is and all He has done for you. Declare them boldly into your life. As you read the Bible and see how Jesus lived His life and all that He did, see yourself in Him doing the very same things that He did and saying the very same things He said.

PRAYER:
Father, I thank you for giving me the same life that Jesus has. Help me to think, speak and behave like Jesus always.
