LIVE PREPARED

1Peter 1:13 (TPT), Ephesians 5:15-16 (GNB)

So then, prepare your hearts and minds for action! Stay alert and fix your hope firmly on the marvelous grace that is coming to you. For when Jesus Christ is unveiled, a greater measure of grace will be released to you. *So be careful how you live. Don’t live like ignorant people, but likewise people. Make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days.

When you have a hope or an expectation, you will rightly prepare yourself for it. Preparation places you in the right frame of mind and adequately positions you in other areas of your life so that you can timely seize the opportunity when presented. God does not want us to miss out on opportunities or be taken unaware in any area of our lives. On the contrary, He wants us to live prepared. There is so much that God wants us to consistently expect and be prepared for; everything from the manifestation of His promises, to the manifestation of His life, wisdom and power through us, to opportunities to preach the
Gospel and be a blessing to others and most of all, the coming of Christ.

God also wants us to be prepared for the unexpected. Joseph was prepared to overcome the temptation from Potiphar’s wife and interpret Pharaoh’s dream. In the parable of the wise and foolish virgins, what
differentiated the wise from the foolish was their level of preparation (Matt.25:1-13). The wise ones took extra oil for their lamps. They did not want the fire in their lamps to go out for any reason. Always be expectant.

Be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit, for He will show you things to come and guide you into all truth. Give your best in all you do. Prepare for Christ’s coming.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, I thank you for your promises and all the wonderful things about to happen in my life. Help me to always live prepared.
