Memorise: For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Romans 9:17

BIBLE READING: Romans 9:15-17

15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

Bible Reading In One Year: Isaiah 50-52; 1 Thessalonians 11-10

MESSAGE:

If you visit a shopping mall, you will see an array of various products. Each product has a specific needs that it was designed to meet in the life of the consumers. So, as the products are made to meet to meet different needs, so did God create every fellow on earth to fulfill a unique purpose. God put in man everything he needs to fulfill the purpose for which he was created. There is a reason God created you. And you need to know it. There is a saying: when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. If you don’t know God’s purpose for your life, you may end up wasting the potential God has deposited inside you.

I once asked God why He allowed me to waste 27 years studying mathematics, when He knew I would end up being a preacher. He told me that it was to enable me preach mathematically. Whatever course you end up studying in school, know that it was to fulfill God’s purpose on earth. So don’t live anyhow, don’t be friend that is available to accompany people anywhere and everywhere. Choose a career path and work hard, knowing fully that you will always bring glory to God’s name.

Action Point:

Decide that whatever you do, you will always bring glory to God’s name.

HYMN: I’M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY

  1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
    New heights I’m gaining everyday;
    Still praying as I onward bound
    “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Chorus:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

  1. My heart has no desire to stay
    Where doubts arise, and fears dismay;
    Though some may dwell where these abound,
    My constant aim is higher ground.
  2. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
    To rest beneath unclouded skies,
    Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
    By those who dwell on higher ground.

4. I long to scale the utmost height,
Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song while climbing, shall resound
Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

  1. Lord, lead me up the mountain side
    I dare not climb without my Guide;
    And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
    With grateful heart from higher ground.
