“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.“ – 1 John 4:18
Someone who fears me does not love me. Fear destroys love. It manifests itself in suspicion and uncertainty. If my church members are uncertain about me, whether I am a good person or not, then they do not love me. If they constantly suspect me of evil, they do not love. Fear destroys love and that is why perfect love casts out fear.
Fears and insecurities in one partner can lead to a total breakdown of the marriage. Fear leads to suspicion, accusations and counter accusations. The home is turned into a courtroom where the first accused has to constantly defend and explain his every move. It is not easy to be in the accused person’s box. Fear is not a replacement for love.
Dear sister, you prevent your husband from loving you when you allow insecurities to gain ascendancies. You are welcoming an evil spirit called “fear” to ravage your home. Fear often attacks the most beautiful and blessed people. They have everything but they do not have happiness because they are afraid that they might lose what they have. This is what happened to Job. He was a super-blessed person but he was afraid. When tragedy finally struck, he confessed that he had been fearful all along (Job 3:25). Fear has the power to totally change the course of your life if you allow it.
Do not be deceived dear friend; fear is one of the highest kinds of demonic attacks anyone can experience. Perfect love has no place for fear. It casts out fear.
