TOPIC: Love in Deed
BIBLE READING: Psalm 29-131
TEXT: “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth”. 1 John. 3:18

MESSAGE
Our anchor text admonishes us not to live in words, neither in tongue but in deed and in truth because the character of
love is seen in practice and nor through empty words. And one practical way if expressing love is through giving. The Almighty God demonstrated His love for the world by giving His only begotten son so that men could be saved John 3:16.

All through the lifetime of Jesus on earth, He expressed his love for humanity in great compassion by giving. In Matthew 15:32, He said to his disciples, “I have compassion on the multitude because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat and I will no send them away fasting lest they faint in the way”. Despite He gave them his time, fed them with the word, healed and delivered them his time, fed them with word, healed and delivered them from demonic oppressions, He still went ahead and fed them. Why a love in deed! Child of God, we are called to emulate the footsteps of Jesus to love in deed and in truth. Our love for others especially those of the household of faith should be from our hearts and not cosmetic. We are to demonstrate this love by giving. In other words, we are to feed the hungry around us, clothe the naked etc, not just quoting scriptures that God will supply their needs when we have the capacity to do so. To speak in tongues to a man that is hungry preaching the gospel to him is like pouring water on a rock. You can get his attention faster by meeting his need for food and introduce the great provider to him who can meet all his needs if he becomes his Lord and personal Savior. As you demonstrate love with understanding from this day, heaven will rejoice with you.

PRAYER:
My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, help me to emulate your footsteps of love.
