And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
In the Garden of Gethsemane, hours before His death, Jesus knelt to have a conversation with His Father.
For 33 years, Jesus walked this earth. The Father’s mission was His exclusive aim. He only spoke and acted as His Father directed Him. As He anticipated the cross, He pled with God that, if it was possible, if there was another way, to please let this cup pass from Him. If not, God’s will be done.
His agony was so great as He prayed that His sweat became like huge drops of blood dripping from His face. He bled for you because He believes in you.
At His Word, everything was fashioned. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west because Jesus instructs it to do so. The moon glows at His insistence. He has numbered and named the stars, commanding them to shine for His purpose. He formed every mountain with His hand. He carved every valley with His finger. He planted every flower. He designed every creature.
Yet, He bled for none of them. He did not bleed for the trees or the birds. He did not bleed for the multitudes of angels. He bled for you because He believes in what He created you to be.
Blessing:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Because Jesus believed in and bled for you, pour yourself out for the cause of Christ. May you be used for His glory in this generation!
