Making the Best of Your Time While Single- Part 1

Dear Reader,

Welcome to another great month. I pray that God will settle you and your family on every side in Jesus’ name! This month, we shall explore Making the Best of Your Time While Single.

As a single, God has designed these years of your life as the foundation for every aspect of your life. So, your life doesn’t have to be full of anxiety in expectation of the day you will get married. God desires that, as His child, every additional day of your life should be exciting and purposeful (Proverbs 4:18). The Word says: For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 TLB). God has a good plan for you; you did not make yourself. God packaged you and sent you into the world. Therefore, you are the creation of the Most High God, not a non-entity, coincidence or a mistake. A good understanding of this will help you gain confidence in God. No matter what your parental background was, you are still His creature of beauty and purpose (Psalm 139:14). No matter the circumstances surrounding your birth, God’s Word makes it very clear that you were made for a purpose. Instead of filling your single days with anxiety, key into the will of God during this period.

As a single man or woman, the will of God for you is to be successful. The Word says: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8). Also, the will of God is for you to be above only, not beneath. The Word says: And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them (Deuteronomy 28:13).Whether you are a working single or in school, no matter your circumstance, you can be successful. As a believer, God has equipped you with so much. He has invested a lot on your inside to enable you make what you want out of life, not just in marriage, but in every other area of life.

Therefore, if you desire a good future, you must work it out yourself, and this takes discipline and handwork (Philippians 2:12). Therefore, you can’t afford to be lazy. When you make up your mind to be diligent in whatever you do according to the Word of God, His grace is made available, and so it becomes easy for you to obey.

However, the foundation of your single years must be rooted in God, and that can only be possible if you are a child of God. So, if you are not born again, please say this prayer of faith: Dear Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Now, I know I am born again!

Congratulations, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave or forsake you. With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace, in Jesus’ name! Please write or call to share your testimonies with me through oyedepofaitha@gmail.com OR 08141320204
