And Jesus answered and said to them: ’Take heed that no one deceives you’

Jesus warned His followers to be on alert, because this world would be saturated in deception. Rumors, offenses, betrayals, lies – the end of days would see such mass duplicity that people will not be able to tell the truth from a lie.

Satan, the father of lies, has so infiltrated our culture that he has infected the way that we receive our information, as well as the motivations for our decisions. The media has neglected objectivity to create stories that fit their own narrative.

From the government to education, deception has crept in to distort and deceive. Truths that once seemed so evident have been discarded. Even in our churches, pastors are more interested in comfort than the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus declared that God’s word is truth. It is still the truth of God that brings the sinner from the far country, that sets the addict free. It is the truth of God that breaks the chains of bondage, that reaches into the past to redeem what the enemy tried to destroy and gives hope for a brighter tomorrow. It is this truth that brings joy to the hopeless, strength to the weary, water to the thirsty. The agnostic may deny it, the world may reject it, the atheist may hate it, but His truth stands.

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Find wisdom and understanding in the Word. May you be so familiar with His truth that you stand firm on the Rock that is Christ Jesus!
