Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me

One simple Bible principle provides a 100% guarantee of success for now and eternity: find out what God desires from you and do that! Jesus, Who only said and did the things that God directed, is our guiding example.

In Matthew 25, Jesus made it clear that we are our brother’s keeper, that we have a responsibility towards others. He said that He would return with the angels one day to separate the nations. He will commend those “sheep” who fed the hungry, clothed the naked, and visited the sick and imprisoned. He will welcome them into His eternal joy.

His warning was much more somber for the “goats.” He will curse those who failed to minister to the hungry, thirsty, sick, and bound and will send them into everlasting fire. When they refused to do those things for the least, they refused to do them for Jesus Himself.

Jesus places a high priority on caring for others if He will send us into everlasting punishment for failing to do so. How are you feeding the hungry and clothing the needy? When have you visited the sick or those in jail? Beginning today, how can you practically reach out to “the least” in our society?

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May your heart be moved with compassion for those in need. May your feet be swift to answer His call. May your hands be always ready to minister in the name of Jesus.
