For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.” – Philippians 2:20

There is nothing like doing a job from the bottom of your heart. Work hard by working from your heart.

Work for God until it becomes your second nature. Work for the Lord until it is a pleasure for you to work. Work for the Lord until you cannot distinguish between working and resting.

No one ever told me what to do in ministry. I have naturally wanted to pray, to visit and to counsel my people. I have naturally wanted to wait on God, catch the anointing, revelation and receive guidance from the Holy Spirit. Our church is larger today and I struggle to know the names of everyone and to remember who they are. It is almost an impossible task! I wish I knew everybody’s homes. I wish I could attend all their important family events. It is a natural desire. Anyone who is a true pastor has what I call “natural care”.

“I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. I have no one else like him, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare. For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel. I hope, therefore, to send him as soon as I see how things go with me. And I am confident in the Lord that I myself will come soon” (Philippians 2:19-24, NIV).
