Memorise: Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure. 1 Timothy 5:22

Bible Reading: Genesis 18:17-19

17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;

18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Bible Reading In One Year: Jeremiah 36-37, Philemon 1:1-25

MESSAGE:

I like dogs, and one of the reasons I like dogs is because they don’t pretend. They are very predictable. When a dog is happy, it wags his tail and when its angry, it barks. They are unlike some humans who can be hypocritical. If you are a hypocrite, you are far from purity because a pure person is trustworthy. God tried the heart of Abraham and said He knows him. Can God, your parents and people around you vouch for you? James 5:12 says:

“But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay be nay; Lest ye fall into condemnation.”

In one of my books, As Pure as Light, I cited an illustration. Let’s assume there is a bucket of water that is pure by all standards and everyone queues up to drink from it, then, a mother trying to change her baby’s diaper mistakenly spills a bit of the baby’s faeces into the bucket of water, do you think people would still drink from it? No, it has been contaminated. As little as you might think a lie is, it can contaminate you. You can also be contaminated by the sins of sinful friends.

Action Point:

Only the pure in heart shall see God.

Hymn: Take My Life And Let It Be

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moment and days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee

3.Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from thee.

4.Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.

5.Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer be mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,

6.Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At They feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
