No Excuse
by Dr. (Mrs) Lizzy Johnson-Suleman

BIBLE READING: Numbers 25-28

TEXT: “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.” Hebrews 2 :1.

Excuse is the attempt to deny responsibility for an action or for lack of action. There is no excuse for sin. Don’t give in to excuse that can keep you from really living the best life God has for you. The things we have heard and seen should not be taken for granted Hebrews 2:2-3; “For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation..? Matthew 22:5-6; Jesus gave a parable of a man that invited men to his son’s marriage, he sent his servants to remind them but they made light of it, giving one excuse or the other and some even dealt spitefully to his servants and slew them. And in verse 7, when the King heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

Till this moment, people always have excuse for sin. God commanded Adam in Genesis 2 :16-17; not to eat a particular fruit. But in Genesis 3:12 he gave his excuse for eating the fruit.

God instructed Saul in 1 Samuel 15:3; to utterly destroy the Amalekites, he did not totally obey. But excuse himself in 1 Samuel 15:21; giving reasons why he did not obey the instructions. There is always excuse for not obeying but the excuse does not stop the consequence for the sin.

There is no excuse for sin! Jesus in Luke 9:59-61; asked men to follow him and they were giving excuses and in Luke 9:62; Jesus said, no man, having put his hands to the plough, and looking back is fit for the Kingdom of God.

I pray for you, may you have pleasure always in abstaining from sin.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I refuse to give excuse in your kingdom work, in Jesus name..
