No More Barriers
by Greg Laurie on Sep 18, 2021 “I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, ‘Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them’” —Revelation 21:3Scripture:Revelation 21:3
At this moment, two-thirds of the Earth’s surface is covered with water. The remaining one-third contains large areas of mountains and deserts that we’ve rendered uninhabitable for humans. This leaves only a small portion of the Earth’s surface that we can actually occupy. And when God establishes His kingdom, all the barriers that now separate us will be gone.
The barriers that separate nations will be gone. The barriers that separate areas where people live will be gone. And I might add, there will be no racial divisions when we get to Heaven. There will be no divisions at all.
The Bible tells us in Revelation 7, “After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb” (verse 9 NLT). People from every nation and from every race will be there.
We also will be reunited with loved ones who have preceded us to Heaven. Do you have someone you love who is in Heaven right now? Then know this: They not only are a part of your past, but they also will be part of your future.
In Heaven we will be able to personally meet the great heroes of the Bible. We’ll also see Christian heroes of more recent history. And we’ll be able to spend time with them.
Ultimately, of course, we’ll be with the Lord Himself. That is most the most important aspect of the afterlife: being with Jesus.
Later in Revelation, John wrote, “I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, ‘Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them’” (21:3 NLT).
We will have open access to the very presence of God—no appointment necessary.
