O GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD

Psalms 106:1-2 (KJV, CEV)

Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise? *We will celebrate and praise you, LORD! You are good to us, and your love never fails. No one can praise you enough for all of the mighty things you have done.

One of the most amazing things about thanksgiving is that, it is God who did what we are thanking Him for, but because we are thanking Him for it, He goes ahead to bless us and do even more for us. This is why I love giving God thanks. Thanksgiving is a seed for greater thanksgivings.

One thing I want us to thank God for today, is the grace He gave us to keep our focus on Christ. Every increase and every good thing that we experienced and we will still experience is not because of any other reason but because of Christ. It is because of God’s great love and kindness towards us in Christ Jesus. We did not deserve or qualify for all the wonderful things God did for us this year, but God did them for us anyway.

As you cast your mind back to all the goodness and mercies of God that you experienced this year, let your heart be filled with so much joy, praise and thanksgiving to God, for He deserves all the honour, glory, adoration and exaltation. Thank God that you are alive and thank Him that you are in Christ. Thank God that we are His children. For no matter what God does for us, if we are not His children, everything else will amount to nothing in the long run. As His children, there is nothing He cannot do for us.

Thanksgiving song:
We are grateful O Lord, We are grateful O Lord, For all you have done for us, We are grateful O Lord.
