Obedience Commands the Blessings
by Dr. (Mrs) Lizzy Johnson-Suleman
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Zephaniah 1-3
TEXT: “And the LORD said unto Abram, after they Lot was separated from him, Life up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever”.
Exodus 39 :32.
There are blessings and there is the blessing that commands other blessings upon a man.
When you give yourself to obedience willingly obeying all that God instructs you to do, you command the blessing. Proverbs 10 :22; speaks of the blessing saying, “The blessing of the LORD it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” When the seal is of the blessing comes upon you, you do not struggle to get things which others labour for. They are added to you cheaply because of the blessing.
This is what the scripture Matthew 6 :33; also states because you cannot seek the kingdom of God outside obedience. In other words, to seek the kingdom of God is on the platform of obedience and all these things which the Gentiles seek after shall be added to you. The blessing of obedience commands them cheaply upon your life.
God also instructs and leads us through His servants and messengers, prophets, pastors etc. He says, “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding” Jer. 4 :15.
When we give ourselves to obeying their instructions as we follow, we command the blessing from them on us. God confirms the words of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messenger Isa. 44 :26.
In the scenario of our anchor text, scripture says in verse 32; “Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they”. And in our anchor text, Moses God’s servant was pleased with their work which was exactly as God commanded and he Blessed them.
You can also command the blessing on you if you make up your mind to obey God’s command.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray now, I receive fresh grace for obedience.
