ON HOLY GROUND

“I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
Exodus 3:14

When Moses encountered God in the burning bush, he was told to remove his sandals because he was standing on holy ground.

This moment was about physical location and recognizing God’s immediate presence. When we know God’s presence and respond to His call, every place can become holy ground.

Think about where you encounter God most profoundly. Is it in a church, nature, or perhaps in the quiet moments at home? Acknowledge these spaces as holy ground.

Just as Moses was called to lead his people to freedom, you, too, are called to act wherever you are. This isn’t always easy. Facing our ‘Pharaohs’ can be daunting, but remember God’s words to Moses: “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” (Exodus 3:14)

Consider how God can make the ground you walk on holy by carrying His presence with you. Whether offering a kind word, making a difficult but moral choice, or showing compassion to a person in need—each action in Jesus’ name sanctifies your day and your environment.

Names, God’s constancy, and what He does through our lives can cause our names to stand for something good – something eternal.

Like Moses, let your life be a testament to the power of answering God’s call on the holy ground of everyday life.
