Memorise: “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” – Hebrews 13:6

Read: Psalm 121:1-8

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Bible In One Year: Psalm 107-108, Romans 15:22-33

MESSAGE:

Our God is extremely good. He is goodness personified. The whole world benefits daily from His goodness (Psalms 107:15). It is because of this goodness that you are always guaranteed help from Him; He never forsakes His own.

Are you having issues with your studies? Call on God and He will help you. Is it difficult to keep up with house chores? Call on God and He will help you. Is there someone bullying or threatening you? Call on God and He will help you. When He steps in to help you, you will have complete rest. Not even your family or friends can help you like God will. You must however note that God does not give the food of children to dogs (Matthew 15:26). If you want Him to help you, then you need to be a child of God. Once you are a child of God, just call on Him whenever you need Him and He will show up for you.

Action Point:

Think about the area where you need God’s help and ask Him to come and help you today.

Hymn 6:

  1. Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
    And our eternal home:
  2. Under the shadow of your throne
    Your saints have dwelt secure;
    Sufficient is your arm alone,
    And our defense is sure
  3. Before the hills in order stood
    Or earth received its frame,
    From everlasting you are God,
    To endless years the same.
  4. A thousand ages in your sight
    Are like an evening gone
Short as the watch that ends the night
    Before the rising sun.
  5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
    Soon bears us all away;
We fly forgotten, as a dream
    Does at the opening day.
  6. Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Still be our guard while troubles last,
    And our eternal home!
