OUR HOPE AS MEMBERS OF GOD’S FAMILY (1)

Ephesians 2:12-13 (NLT)

In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.

One of the greatest benefits we enjoy as members of God’s family is hope. We always have hope. We have been born into a life of living hope, (1Pet.1:3, NIV). As children of God, our hope is based on God’s great love for us, the precious promises He has given us, and the resurrection power of Jesus at work in our lives.

Our hope does not disappoint us, for God has filled our hearts with His love by His Spirit, (Rom.5:5, GNB). We have been accepted in the beloved (Eph.1:6) and we are God’s dearly beloved children, (Eph.5:1). We are now God’s beloved sons and daughters, just like Christ is to Him. We have been united with Christ. God loves us the same way He loves Jesus, (John 17:23). We are not just children of God, we are joint heirs with Christ. We are the church of the firstborn, (Heb.12:23).

One major hope that we have is that God will always treat us the same way He treats Jesus. We have been granted the privilege to enjoy everything that Jesus deserves. When we pray in the name/authority of Jesus, God responds to us the same way He responds to Jesus. Jesus said if human parents who are not perfect, can lovingly take care of their children and give them the best, much more, our Heavenly Father will give wonderful gifts to them that ask Him, (Matt.7:7, TPT).

Prayer:
I thank you Father for the assurance that I have in life because of your great love for me. Thank you for treating me like Christ.
