OUR HOPE AS MEMBERS OF GOD’S FAMILY (2)

Titus 2:11-13, 1Corinthians 15:19 (NLT) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; *..if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.

Yesterday, we looked at the hope we have in this life. Today, we shall focus on the hope we have in the life to come and how it affects the way we live now. Life does not end on earth. When Jesus suffered and died for us, He saved us and gave us hope for both our life on earth and the life beyond this earth. The life we will experience beyond this earth is surely going to be more glorious than anything we can ever experience on this earth. Everything God gives us or shows to us is just a foretaste or preview of what He has in store for us in eternity.

“God has something stored up for you in heaven, where it will never decay or be ruined or disappear,” (1Pet.1:4, CEV). 2Corinthians 4:17 speaks about the eternal weight of glory that our light afflictions are working out for us. Jesus is coming back with great rewards for us (Rev.22:12) and when we see Him, we shall be like Him, (1 John 3:2). Our weak mortal bodies will be changed into Jesus’ glorious body, (Phil.3:21, GNB).

God wants us to live our lives every day in hope of the glory that we shall receive when Christ comes again, (Col.1:27). This hope makes us purify ourselves (1 John 3:3) and commit ourselves to serve God’s purpose faithfully, (2Tim.4:7-8), occupying till He comes.

Prayer:
Dear Father, please fill my heart with the hope I have for the life to come. May this hope make me live right and serve you faithfully.
