Our Immunity against Cheating and Covetousness

Hebrews 13:1-6(NKJV)

Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers…. Remember prisoners as if chained with them – those who are mistreated -since you… are in the body also. Marriage is honorable ….and the bed undefiled…. fornicators and adulterous God will judge. Let your conduct be without covetousness ;be content with such ….as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say “The LORD is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?

One reason people cheat and are covetous is because of a certain negative mindset and fear that arises in their hearts. This fear and negative mindset are present because they have chosen to believe the lies of the devil. One such lie is that what they have is not enough (or is inferior) and that as such, they will be unable to become everything that God intended for them to be. The devil makes them feel as if they are alone and helpless. They then begin to feel an emptiness that pushes them to cheat and be covetous.

Many people are not walking in love and doing the things God wants of them because they are afraid that they will be cheated or that they will lose out. Often times these lies are strengthened by the things that they see happening around them.

Beloved, the only antidote for such fear and lies is the truth of God’s amazing love and God’s mighty presence with us. God wants us to be assured of His help. He wants our eyes on Him. Many times we are more concerned about the wickedness of men than of the love of God. We are sometimes more conscious of what people think of us and what people can do to us , than of what God thinks of us and what God can do and has done for us. Our consciousness of God’s Love is what causes us to walk in faith, love and God’s ways. Jesus told the woman by the well, “you don’t know what God wants to give you, and you don’t know who is asking you for a drink . If you did, you would ask me for the water that gives life. (John 4:10 CEV). Jesus said , “My little group of disciples, don’t be afraid! Your Father wants to give you the Kingdom”( Luke 12:32 CEV).

Faith Declaration:
I refuse to allow any fear or negative mindset to manipulate me. I am conscious of God’s love and presence and I will continue to do God’s will.
