Daily Devotional: 26th September “PASSION, ENERGY, ZEAL”

READ: Song of Solomon 8:4-7

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it:… – Song of Solomon 8:7

When you love God you will be passionate and fiery. When a man loves a woman, he burns with passion towards her. When you love God, you will burn with passion towards Him.

But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I. But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to BURN WITH PASSION. 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 (NASB)

Love is stronger than death; it is stronger than jealousy. Love has a stronger flame than the flame of jealousy.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for LOVE is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which HATH A MOST VEHEMENT FLAME. Song of Solomon 8:6

Love tells you to be zealous and energetic. Young couples that are passionately in love do not have to be advised to be zealous and energetic. It is older couples that are tired of each other who have to take vitamins and energy drinks to stir up their zeal.

When you are filled with love for God, nothing will tell you to be zealous. You do not need to have a meeting where you will be told how you need to exert your energy for the Lord. When you love someone, you are naturally full of zeal. I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children. For the ZEAL OF THINE HOUSE HATH EATEN ME UP; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. Psalms 69:8-9
