And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.— Philippians 4:7 (AMPC)

We can petition the Lord for things we need every morning. God’s Word tells us to lay our requests before Him: Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God (Philippians 4:6 AMPC).

But don’t spend all your time with God petitioning for things. You are out of balance if your petitions outweigh your praise and thanksgiving. A heart full of thankfulness will make any day better.

Prayer of the Day: Father God, thank You for all the many blessings in my life. Help me and guide me to find the balance between asking for more, praising You, and for giving thanks! You are only good and I love You, amen
