PRAY FOR GOD TO OPEN PEOPLE’S HEARTS

ACTS 16:14(TPT), EPHESIANS 1:16 & 18(GNB)

…..Lydia, a business woman from the city of Thyatira…. While Paul shared the good news with her, God opened her heart to receive Paul’s message. ….ever since I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks to God for you. I remember you in my prayers. I ask that your minds may be opened to see His light….

The preaching of the Gospel, although good and essential, must be accompanied by fervent prayers. One such prayer is for God to open the hearts of unbelievers to receive the Gospel. When God opens the hearts of those who do not yet believe in Christ, the light of His love, glory and power shine into them, set them free and transform their lives (Acts 26:18).

The devil does not want people to see the light of God’s love, glory and power. He does not want their hearts to be opened to the Gospel. The Bible says, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world had blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ who is the image of God should shine unto them” (2 Corinthians 4 3 2). But as we pray God will open their hearts and transform their lives.

When the Syrian army surrounded Elisha and Gehazi, Gehazi was initially afraid but Elisha prayed for his eyes to be opened and God answered his prayers.. Gehazi’s eyes were opened and he saw the chariots of fire surrounding them and his faith was strengthened . As we pray for God to open the eyes and hearts of the unbelieving, they will grow in their faith and walk in greater victory and more of God’s fullness for their lives.

Action Point:
Ask God to open your heart more as well as the hearts of others to the revelation of His love, glory and power.
