PRAY FOR GOD TO OPEN YOUR EYES TO YOUR HIGH CALLING

Ephesians 1:15-16 & 18 (NIV), Philippians 3:14

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. *I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you *I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Do you know that you have a high calling? Your profession or ministry may be your calling, but there is something higher than that, that God has called you to. In Philippians 3:8, Paul said he wanted to win Christ and in verse 12, he said he wanted to apprehend (lay hold of) that for which Christ Jesus had apprehended (laid hold of) him. This is the prize he was referring to in our second text above. Beloved, the utmost prize God wants us to win in this our walk or race of faith is Christ Himself – the fullness of the power and glory of Christ. This is our high calling – to manifest the glory of Christ. “[It was] to this end that He called you through our Gospel, so that you may obtain and share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)”, 2Thes.2:14 (AMPC)

As you pray our first text above, God will fill your heart with the hope that comes from knowing all He has called and destined for you to be in Christ. This hope will produce faith in your heart. God wants to open your eyes to see yourself functioning in the capacity of Christ in your field, sphere of influence or ministry. God wants you to live your life with the hope of His glory manifesting in and through your life, (Rom.5:2). The glory of God is going to be revealed in you (Rom.8:18). Christ is going to be revealed in you and through you, (Gal.1:15-16). The glory of Christ is going to be revealed in you and through you.

Prayer:
Father, please open my eyes and fill my heart with the pictures/hope of the glory of Christ that you have called me to manifest
