PRAY FOR THE SALVATION OF LEADERS OF OUR NATION

*1Timothy 2:1-4

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.*

As we pray for the salvation of all men, it is important that we also pray specifically for the salvation of our leaders and influential people in general.

Many times, it can seem difficult to reach leaders and influential people with the Gospel of Christ. The challenges of their position/responsibilities as well as the kind of advisers around them can also pose a hindrance. But as we pray for their salvation, the grace of God that brings salvation will appear to them. The glorious light of the Gospel of Christ will shine on them. Just like Paul, many of them are going to have a Damascus Road encounter with Jesus, (Acts 9:1-6).

When leaders and influential people get saved, they will lead well and make policies that will lead to societal growth and development as well as the spread of the Gospel of Christ. They will influence people positively and in the right path. When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice, (Prov.29:2). God can make those in authority become saved and righteous. This is why we must pray for their salvation. As we speak truth to power and hold our leaders accountable, we must not forget to pray for them; especially for their salvation. God loves them too and God is counting on us to pray for their salvation.

Prayer:
Father, we pray for the salvation of leaders and people of influence. May the light of the Gospel shine upon their hearts.
