PRAY FOR YOUR NEEDS IN THIS WAY

Philippians 4:6-7, 19, John 16:23

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. *But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. *And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

One of the first things to do when praying concerning your needs is to be confident of God’s love and abundance available to you. It is God that has asked you to pray unto Him because He loves you and He wants to answer you. The major purpose of prayer is to commune or fellowship with God and to grow in our relationship with Him. One of the benefits and privileges we have in prayer is the privilege to ask God concerning our needs, so we can receive of the provision and supply that He has already made for us in Christ.

When we are deeply conscious of God’s love and abundance available to us, we will not be anxious about our needs. We will be confident of God’s intervention and supply. Be conscious that God’s power is available to you. God’s love, abundance and power available to you are always more than whatever challenge or need you may have.

Always pray in the name or authority of Jesus. You are one with Him and God loves you and relates to you the same way He loves and relates with Jesus. God will answer you the same way He will answer Jesus. In John 11:41-42, Jesus said, “Father I thank you that you have heard me and that you always hear me.” You need to have this same confidence too. Pray in faith. God’s arms are always open wide towards you. Come boldly to God’s throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in your time of need, (Heb.4:16). Do not be double minded. Do not give yourself reasons why God may not hear you or why you may not receive what you are asking for. A double minded man is unstoppable in all his ways and he cannot receive anything from God, (James 1:5-8).

Action Point:
Thank God for His great love, abundance and power available to you in Christ. Pray in faith and in the authority of Christ for your needs.
