“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”-PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7
Thanksgiving is that quiet holiday nestled between Halloween and Christmas that beckons us to slow down and reflect on God’s bountiful blessings. But with all the busyness of the surrounding holiday season, it is easy to become frazzled and anxious and miss the purpose and joy of the occasion.
In our scripture we are given the solution for our anxiousness and worry. We are to pray with thanksgiving. The promised result of such praying is that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds. So throughout this season, make sure to “call a time out” when stress comes, and pray with thanksgiving. When you do, you will discover a peace that surpasses all human understanding.
