PRAYER, FAITH AND OBEDIENCE

NUMBER 21:7-9 The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned …Now pray to the LORD to take these snakes away.” So Moses prayed for the people. Then the LORD told Moses to make a metal snake and put it on a pole, so that anyone who was bitten could look at it and be healed. So Moses made a bronze snake and put it on a pole. Anyone who had been bitten would look at the bronze snake and be healed. 

We studied yesterday about the importance of adding patience to our faith as we await the manifestation of what we have prayed for. When some people hear the word ‘patience,’ all they think about is waiting and doing nothing. Patience is more than waiting and doing nothing. Patience is about having a good attitude while you wait. Patience also entails obedience and doing the will of God. Hebrews 11:35-36 says, “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Just like a waiter in a restaurant, we wait on God by listening to Him and doing His will. As we wait on God, we renew our strength, we mount up with wings like eagles, we run and are not weary, we walk and do not faint, (Isa.40:31). We keep walking and running with God’s will. We apply God’s wisdom to our lives and we keep doing what His word says we should do and what His Spirit is leading us to do.

After Moses prayed for the healing from the bite of the serpents, God led him on what to do for the Israelites to receive their healing. One of the reasons God fills your heart with His peace after you pray with thanksgiving is so that you can hear His voice. Stay in an atmosphere of faith and God’s word and keep following God’s leading.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for hearing my prayers. I yield myself to you. Keep leading me by your word and Spirit.
