PRAYERS FOR PEACE AND SAFETY IN THE NATION (2)

1Timothy 2:1-2 (LB), Matthew 7:7

..Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them. Pray…for kings and all …who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord. *Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Another way we can pray for the peace and safety of our nation is to ask God in the authority of Christ, to stop the evil plans of the wicked. God can stop and frustrate the plans of the wicked. The Bible is full of several examples of this and God can do it for us as we pray for our nation. The Bible says, “You are a righteous God and judge our thoughts and desires. Stop the wickedness of evildoers and reward those who are good,” (Psa.7:9, GNB). “Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake,” (Isa.54:15). When Haman was planning to wipe out all the Jews in the land of Shushan, Esther went before the king on behalf of God’s people and the evil plan was stopped, (Esther 7 & 8).

Whether it is any form of terrorism, kidnapping, exploitation, stealing, killing, banditry, rigging or disruption of elections, or any other evil plan to hurt lives, properties and disrupt the peace of the nation, we can ask God to stop it and it will be stopped and frustrated.

Jesus said, “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven,” (Matt.18:19). As we ask and agree together for God to stop their evil plans, they will be stopped.

Prayer Focus:
Thank God for the lives of everyone in the nation and ask God to stop and frustrate every evil plan of the wicked.
