PRAYERS FOR PEACE AND SAFETY IN THE NATION (4)

1Timothy 2:1-4 (LB)

…Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them. Pray in this way for kings and all others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness… This is good and pleases God our Savior, for he longs for all to be saved and to understand this truth:

As we pray for the peace and safety of our nation, in line with our last three studies, we must also pray fervently and in the authority of Christ, for the salvation of everyone in our nation. This is so vital because God longs for everyone in our nation to get saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. This is God’s heartbeat.

The major reason certain people are practicing wickedness and perpetuating evil in the nation, is because they are not saved and their lives are under the influence of the devil, (Eph.2:2). Their eyes have been blinded by the devil and they are ignorant of the truth of God’s love and saving grace that is freely available for them in Christ Jesus. God loves them and He does not want them to continue in their evil ways. God does not want them to perish in their sins, (John 3:16). That is why He sent Jesus Christ to suffer and die for them. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”, (2Pet.3:9).

Pray for the light of the Gospel to shine on them. Pray that like Saul (en route to Damascus to kill believers), they will encounter Christ and be turned from their evil ways into great vessels for God, (Acts 9:1-6).

Prayer:
Father, we thank you for the lives of everyone in this nation. We pray for the light of the Gospel to touch every heart and save them.
