PRESERVED BY DIVINE DIRECTION

1Kings 17:2-6

Then the LORD said to Elijah, “Leave this place and go east and hide yourself near Cherith Brook, east of the Jordan. The brook will supply you with water to drink, and I have commanded ravens to bring you food there.” Elijah obeyed the LORD’s command, and went and stayed by Cherith Brook. He drank water from the brook, and ravens brought him bread and meat every morning and every evening.

One of the major ways we experience divine preservation is by following God’s leading. Joseph wanted to end his relationship with Mary when he found out she was pregnant, but through an angel, God appeared to him and told him not to and he obeyed, (Matt.1:18-25). When Herod was out to kill Jesus as a baby, God directed the wise men not to return to Herod and directed Joseph to flee with Mary and Jesus to Egypt, (Matt.2:12-15).

When there was no rain for three and a half years in Israel, God directed Elijah on where to go and God divinely sustained him there. When the river there dried up, God directed Elijah again to the widow He had prepared to preserve Elijah, (1Kings 17:7-9). When Laban was trying to cheat Jacob, God directed Jacob on what to do to overcome Laban’s plans and to leave, (Gen.31:6-13).

Trust God with all your heart (Prov.3:5-6). As long as the Lord is your Shepherd and you keep following His leading, you will not lack anything and you will enjoy His divine preservation. God will lead you on what to do about your children, your relationships, your finances, your career, your ministry, your health, spiritual life and all areas of your life. As God leads you by His Spirit, yield yourself to Him, (Rom.8:14).

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I yield myself to you right now. Please lead me today to experience your abundance and divine preservation.
