This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it

To make it count, we must choose this moment that will never come back to us. Too often, we are tangled up in regret for the past or riddled with anxiety about the future, and we miss the opportunity of the here and now.

This day is not like any other. This is the day that the Lord has made. Before our eyes opened this morning, He went ahead of us to fill up every space. He saw – start to finish – and planned His purposes for us. Because we are His children, we can trust Him and rejoice and be glad right in the middle of it.

Bathe this day in prayer. More than a command to us, prayer is a conversation with the God Who holds the world in the palm of His hand. When we pray, we reach into heavenly places and pull down strongholds. We approach the throne to move mountains. Our pleas help shape the destinies of those we love. We bring down giants of fear.

Prayer in Jesus’ name stirs up the gifts of God in our lives. It saturates our souls with the peace that passes understanding. It fills us with faith to face every moment. It kindles our hope.

Live in this moment. Experience the wonder. Rejoice in it. Breathe in its gladness. Make it count.

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Embrace the promise of this day. Expect His presence in every moment. Experience His power to overcome at every point. He is faithful.
