I will lift up my eyes to the hills— from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth
Perspective makes all the difference! The way that we see something determines how we feel about it which determines what we do with it.
The difference between a sculptor and a stonemason is profound. The stonemason deals in absolutes. He mortars each brick into place with precision and care. A sculptor steps back and allows the block of stone to speak to her. She chips and chisels away the excess to set free a masterpiece.
God wants to change our perspective. We can easily be overwhelmed by the pressing issues of our day. With sagging shoulders, drooping heads, and downcast eyes, we wonder where we can turn for help. Who will come riding over the hill to save the day?
The psalmist encourages us to lift our eyes above the hills to the one Who created them…and us. Here is where we find the relief and the rescue for which we yearn.
God holds the oceans in the palm of His hand. He sized the heavens between His thumb and pinky. He poured out the dust of the earth in a measuring bowl. He weighed each mountain and hill (Isaiah 40:12). Lift up your eyes to consider our majestic Creator. Nothing is too hard for Him! Perspective makes all the difference!
Today’s Blessing:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May heaven come to earth as you shift your eyes from the chaos around you to the Creator above! He makes all things new!
