And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them

“Time flies” is a universal adage. How fleeting are the childhood days of summer. How swiftly our newborns mature into graduates. How quickly the years slip away.

Unnoticed, clocks and calendars can rule our days. The cares and concerns of life – the obligations and the things that we desire — can choke out the truth that we have heard. Stress strangles our devotion to the Lord and leaves us with nothing of genuine value for all of our efforts.

The recent pandemic ground the world to a halt and issued a global invitation to return to the important over the imperative. We reawakened to the wonder of meaningful time with loved ones, the beauty of caring for one another, and the elemental bonds that we share – powerful and basic truths that Jesus expounded.

Time does fly, but we choose how to spend it. We can be its puppet – caught up in the blur of ambitions and activities. Or we can be its master – carefully deciding how to make the moments matter.

God penned the chapters and verses of our lives before we took one breath. Let’s pause at the beginning of each day to ask where He would lead. Our lives are open books before Him; He will show us how to make them count for Him.

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Redeem the time to make every moment count for the Savior. As you follow Him, He will lead you into life everlasting.
