- Psalm 150:6
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
This first day of November marks the beginning of the annual season of thanksgiving. For Christian believers, though, our gratitude is not limited to a season, stage or second.
Constantly and continuously, our praises flow from hearts that have been transformed by our loving Father. No matter where we find ourselves, today is a good time to be grateful.
Our thanksgiving is not rooted in the dilemmas where we may be mired; it is wholly focused on God Who is an ever-present help in the day of trouble. When we pour out worship – even sacrificially from our lowest place – God inhabits our praise; He takes up residence right in the middle of whatever we are facing.
Our thanksgiving ushers us into His presence; our songs of praise carry us into His courtyards. There, in intimate communion with Him, He heals us and makes us whole.
If we are young, we can thank God for the dreams that lie before us, for His plans to prosper us and give us a beautiful future. If we are advanced in years, we can be grateful for the proof of His unwavering faithfulness. If we are experiencing a season of abundance, we can praise the Father of lights Who blesses us with every good thing.
As long as He affords us the opportunity to inhale and exhale, let us praise the Lord!
Today’s Blessing:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. As you lift your voice in praise, may His abiding presence fill you with joy and permeate you with peace.
