And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands

Labor Day provides us the opportunity to honor the social and economic achievements of the American worker. Today, we pay tribute to the contributions that workers have made to the development, security, strength, and prosperity of our country.

As we celebrate, let us offer our gratitude to God for the gifts with which He has graced us in this country. Our Constitution names three inalienable rights available to every American: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Our national and personal freedoms allow us the opportunity to chase our dreams and realize our goals.

Thank God for the breath in our lungs, the strength of our bodies, and the sharpness of our minds as we set our hands to the work that He has provided for us. Thank God for the jobs He has given so that we can provide for our families. Thank God for the value and dignity that He places on the work that we do.

As we give thanks to our Father and offer up every word that we say and every task that we complete in the name of Jesus, we become co-laborers with Christ to achieve amazing accomplishments in this world. May the beauty of the Lord be on us, and may He establish the work of our hands.

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May the Lord bless every person who labors to build this great country. May the beauty of the Lord be upon you, and may He establish the work of your hands for His glory. In the name of Jesus…amen.
