PUT ON CHRIST CONTINUALLY

Romans 13:14 (KJV, CEV, TPT)

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. *Let the Lord Jesus Christ be as near to you as the clothes you wear. Then you won’t try to satisfy your selfish desires. *Instead fully immerse yourselves into the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, and don’t waste even a moment’s thought on your former identity to awaken its selfish desires.

Though a person’s identity is not limited to what the person puts on, what a person puts on can reflect his/her identity to a great extent. By a soldier’s uniform for example, everyone around can know that he/she is a soldier and that uniform can also remind the soldier of his identity and affect how he/she behaves.

When we got saved, we put on Christ in our spirit (Gal.3:27), but God wants us to always put on Christ in our mind. As we put on Christ in our mind, Christ will be reflected from our thoughts, words and actions. God wants us to do everything we do as if it is Christ doing it, (Col.3:17). Apostle Paul said, “…it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me….” (Gal.2:20, GNB). He said this because his old life died with Christ on the Cross. God wants you to put on Christ in every area of your life: from your relationship with God, to your job, to your academics, to your marriage, family and relationships, to your business and finances; and all areas. As you do this, instead of the limitations of your former life manifesting, the character and dominion of Christ will manifest through you. The way to put on Christ is by reminding yourself that you are one with Him and to keep declaring what you have in Him, where you are in Him and what you can do because of Him. Keep saying it until it takes over your mind.

Faith Declaration:
I am one with Christ. Christ is my life. As He is so I am. I can do all things through Christ’s strength in me.
