RECEIVE INSTRUCTION FROM HIS MOUTH

“Receive, please, instruction from His mouth, And lay up His words in your heart.” Job 22:22 NKJV

To ensure that you are rightly positioned to receive all that God has in store for you, you must declare His word daily like we read yesterday. Remember, faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

The next thing to do if you must enjoy the exceeding abundant promises that God has for you is to receive instruction from His mouth. The promises of God will not fall on you like a bag of cherries. No! You have a part to play. I am sure you have heard me say it repeatedly that any prayer that makes God solely responsible is an irresponsible prayer. Every time you pray, take time to listen. We serve the God that made the mouth and He also speaks. He spoke in times past and He is still speaking today. The question is: Are you listening?

Many believers are too busy to listen to God. God has not stopped speaking. Wherever you are at this moment, if you do not have a TV turned on, does that mean your favourite TV station is off air? No, it is not; but you are not receiving the signal because your TV is switched off. The moment you turn on the television set, the channel comes on – not because they just resumed broadcast, but because you just tuned in. That’s the same with God. God wants to speak with you. Prayer is not supposed to be a one-way communication but a two-way thing. He wants you to listen to Him and have a conversation. He wants to tell you what to do about the business. He wants to deposit keys into your hands.

If you have not learnt the art of listening to God, I want you to start today. Each time you want to pray, make sure you have a writing material around you and write down the thoughts that drop in your spirit; you will be surprised at the insight you will receive from His presence.
