RECEIVE THE GRACE OF GOD AND APPLY IT
“For if by one man’s offence, death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:17 KJV)
One thing you must settle in your heart concerning your salvation is that you couldn’t pay the price. Jesus did! You couldn’t die. Jesus did! Grace is unmerited but grace in itself does not empower until it is received by faith. When you receive it, then power comes. That is how it works. You do not do good works to be saved, to be perfect or to be accepted. You do not do good works in order to please God. Rather, you do good works because you have received grace and you are saved. I do not do good works in order to make God happy with me; so that He can accept me. Rather, I do good works because I am already accepted in the beloved.
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:21: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” KJV). What is Righteousness? Righteousness is not right doing but right standing with God. It is the ability to stand before God knowing that you are discharged, acquitted and no appeal about it. It is the life of God at work in you. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says: “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” (KJV).
He became sin so that you can become righteous. Why are you rejecting what has been offered to you? He became, so that you can become.
As a believer in Christ, you have received abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign in life. Therefore, you will reign over sicknesses, diseases, poverty, over witches, wizards, failure and intimidation. You are a king and you need to know it. And where the word of a king is, there is power.
